Muntanya de la Vista Cottage

"Muntanya de la Vista" cottage is where you are assured of a warm welcome. This cottage has been reformed and modernized to a high standard. It has a comfortable living room / kitchen with a dining area. Every window has a magnificent view of mountain side and the wonderful river Ebro and valleys full of wild flowers.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a proper cooker and well stocked with all amenities. The main bedroom has a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, the second bedroom has large twin beds and there is a separate shower room.

Outside there is a large patio with a BBQ and stunning views of the local countryside. You can also explore the 5 ha fruit farm, as well as the surrounding fincas, marveling at the numerous varieties of wild flowers, grasses and cacti and trees native to Baix Ebre area. The stunning and changing landscape provide plenty of subject matter for the artist or photographer in all all seasons.

This traditional Catalonian country house (masia) is situated just off the C12 route on the outskirts of the village of Benifallet. This is very popular with avid fishermen, ever attempting to better their personal best for hauling in the giant Wells catfish and enormous golden carp. It is literally 3 minutes drive to this might Ebro River!

Benifallet villagers enjoy tourists and have five restaurants all serving up a very high standard standard of cuisine. There are friendly bars and they enjoy a good turnout for football on a big screen. Local shops and butchers display a good range of produce whereas Tortosa has choices of big supermarkets 20 minutes away.

Benifallet also has a lovely public swimming pool with large patios and a snack bar. It is open all day throughout the Spanish school summer holidays. It is a only a few minutes drive from the cottage. The end of August/ beginning of September is their week long, Fiesta Major. This is very popular and something for all age groups.

Where else can you explore TerraAlta wine cellars in the morning, walk around an historic castle afterwards, have a long lazy lunch in a picturesque fishing port, then walk along sandy beaches or explore quiet coves? All within easy driving distance of your cottage! The cottage is ideally situated for access to the Greenway for cycling, strolling, jogging or riding.

Arts and Crafts - let the local artist bring out & encourage your creative side with art & crafts classes. Try your hand at painting, pottery, silk art, mosaics and oh, so much more. Packages or daily lessons can be arranged.

Fishing - the Ebro, itself is a world renowned fishing location for it's Giant Wells catfish and carp. We only use reputable and experienced Ebro River fishing guides. These must be pre-booked.

Golf is becoming an important reason for folk holidaying in this area. The choices of courses are increasing, varying from 30 - 60 minutes away. Club Bonmont, Club Reus and La Figuerola are all popular venues. This summer, Port Aventura (outskirts of Salou) will also have its own golf course. Alcanar, further south down the N340, has a good golf course for the discerning player.

Walking / Birdwatching: This area is very conducive to great hikes for the keen hiker of intrepid ELS Ports mountain routes (Mont Caro being the ultimate hike!) stamina or for the stroller along the flat Ebre Delta lands. Birdlife is prolific in all areas.

Coast/Beach: The Costa Daurada golden beaches are only half hour away. El Perello has pretty and secluded coves . Ebro Delta Natural Park has such a selection of long flat sandy beaches and flamingoes and hundreds of species of birds.

Travel: Car hire is strongly advisable to absorb the most from this area. However, if you don´t intend driving, we can provide airport pick-up and drop-off.
