Jesus-Tortosa,
Spain
March 2007
Dear
Friends,
So
which of your relatives have been thinking of moving in with you
now that you braved the big change to pioneer a new life on the
Finca? Our grandson was having all sorts of school troubles in U.K.,
and Julie has another son to deal with too. It's a long story, but
suffice to say Jordan (age 15) has now moved in with us.
So
we spent a lot of March getting him organized, buying a mountain
bike and preparing a room for him. Lots of paperwork of course to
get him a proper card to go to school.. and a lot of it is the old
run around again.
But
what a joy to have a strong young man around the house. One who
is both ready to lift, and dig and work and paint, as well as to
start learning more Spanish and even Catalan. I am sure you will
hear more about Spanish schools and travails of foreign children
in future lessons. But meantime I am making sure he writes home
to Mum each week, and works with me to sort out his dyslexia. Won't
be the first kid I have helped discover his full potential by any
means.
His
Nanna is tickled pink to have children around again. She never could
get enough of them. And now we have someone else to help keep an
eye on her and the dogs.
Seeing
how a child who loves nature blossoms so quickly in the sun and
the dirt and with nature is magically lifting all our spirits. We
are already sure his extra help in the garden will easily cover
the costs of his board and lodging. Now we know why old farmers
always wanted an extra strong back ot two around the yard.
Regards,
Roseann
and family.
PS
I still don't understand how someone can have so much fun with a
frog.... but it sure beats playing on the back streets with bad
stuff in the city!
